PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A) Programme was started in the year 2007 with an intake of 40 students .It is a three year program consisting of 6 semesters. The program imparts comprehensive knowledge with equal emphasis on theory and practice in the field of Information Technology . In B.C.A , students will learn about to demonstrate advanced skills in the effective analysis, design and some interesting subjects like Mathematics , Computer Programming, Computer Networking , Computer Graphics etc. The broad objective of the program is to provide sound academic base from which an advanced career in Computer Application can be developed.

SCOPE OF B.C.A

With the rapid growth of IT industry in India , the demand for computer professionals is increasing day by day.This increasing growth has opened a lot of opportunities for computer graduates. B.C.A is one of the most popular under graduate course among the students who want to make their career in the IT field . After graduation students can find jobs in reputed IT companies like IBM , ORACLE , INFOSYS etc. Students can work as System Engineer, Junior Programmer or as Web Developer.

The department of Computer Applications at Govt. College Una believes in providing the best of the facilities for the students which includes :
Class Rooms : Good class rooms with audio – visual aids.
Computing Facilities : AC computer lab with Internet facility.
Library : Well stocked with reference and text books.

1:- Arranging Seminars for the students.

2:- Conducting tests for students.

3:- Conducting   group discussion.

4:- Purchasing new books.

5:-To organize  project  competitions for final year students.

6:- Our main aim is not only to impart knowledge to students in their skill set but also to inculcate in each one of them the love of mankind.

Achievements:-

1:- One of the  student of BCA ,  Rahul Kumar,  is working as Junior Office Assistant in High Court.

2: Sonam Dhiman is working as Computer  Operator  in HPSEB.

3:- Sachin Chaddha is working in KV Chamera-1  as Computer Teacher.

4:- Monika Kauris doing job in Employment Exchange.

5:- One of our Final year student, Akarshan Bhardwaj  got 7^th Position  in HPU Shimla and pursuing  MCA in PU.

6:- Most of our students pursuing their Higher Education from well reputed Institutions.

7:- Few students pursuing their  Higher Education and also going for part-time job on the basis Earn while learn.
