Govt. College Una has been running its BSc course since its inception in the year 1968. Since then, many of our BSc graduates have been able to reach great milestones in life and touch the pinnacles of glory and success. BSc is a three years Degree course in which the students have the choice to study subjects Physics, chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology.

BSc is divided in to two main streams these are B.Sc in Physical Science and B.Sc in Life Science. These two streams are further divided into three sub streams. This will be explained one by one:

Syllabus of B.Sc

  1. B.Sc Syllabus
  • BSc Physical Science: In this stream students have option to select one main subject as their DSC-1 (Discipline Specific Core) and other two subjects as their DSC-2 and DSC-3. In B.Sc Physical science following options are available:
  1. BSc Physical Science with Physics: In this Stream student will opt Physics as its Main subject ie DSC-1 and Mathematics, Chemistry/Computer as its other two DSC Subjects.
  2. BSc Physical science with Mathematics: In this Stream student will opt Mathematics as a Main subject ie DSC-1 and Physics, Chemistry/Computer as other two DSC Subjects.
  3. BSc Physical Science with Chemistry: In this Stream student will opt Chemistry as a Main subject ie DSC-1 and Mathematics, Physics as other two DSC Subjects.
  4. BSc Physical Science with computers: In this Stream student will opt Computer as a Main subject ie DSC-1 and Mathematics, Physics as other two DSC Subjects.
  • BSc Life Science: In this stream students have option to select one main subject as their DSC-1 (Discipline Specific Core) and other two subject as their DSC-2 and DSC-3. In B.Sc Life science followimg options are available:
  1. BSc Life Science with Botany: In this Stream student will opt Botany as a Main subject ie DSC-1 and Zoology, Chemistry as other two DSC Subjects.
  2. BSc Life Science with Zoology: In this Stream student will opt Zoology as Main subject ie DSC-1 and Botany, Chemistry as other two DSC Subjects.
  3. BSc Life Science with Chemistry: In this Stream student will opt Chemistry as a Main subject ie DSC-1 and Zoology, Botany as other two DSC Subjects.

Admission to B.Sc course is made on the basis of marks secured by the students in their 10+2 board examinations and the minimum marks required for the admission are 40%. In addition to these three DSEs, the students have to study English/Hindi and Environment Science as Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECCs) in the first year. In the second year of B.Sc the students continue with their DSEs, but in place of AECCs they have to opt for two Skill Enhancement Courses (SECs).Selection of SEC is fixed which is based on their main DSC course. For example if student has opted B.Sc Physical Science with Mathematics then He/She will study Mathematics as his/her SECs. In the third or final year the students continue with their DSEs and SECs. Students can apply for these courses only through online admission portal.
